Marvel Champions: The Card Game sees players taking on the roles of the iconic heroes of the Marvel universe as they try to stop infamous villains from enacting their devious schemes.
Choose to play as Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Black Panther, and She-Hulk (from the core set). Combine your powers to take down the rampaging Rhino, the devious Klaw, or the utterly terrifying Ultron!
Marvel Champions is a cooperative card game for 1 to 4 players. So far over 20 additional heroes have been released or announced in upcoming hero packs, including more Avengers like Captain America and Thor; the Guardians of the Galaxy crew members Star Lord, Gamora, and others; Spider-man’s one-time nemesis-turned-hero Venom, and soon the X-Men will be added to the rosters.
Besides the initial set of villains - Rhino, Klaw, and Ultron - scenario packs have been released featuring the Green Goblin, the Wrecking Crew, King the Conquerer and The Hood. Campaign boxes have also been released with more villains and heroes.
Players build up their character decks from a core set of cards unique to that character and add more cards from one of the available ‘aspects’ - aggression, justice, leadership, and protection - which will determine your hero’s play style.
The Village Geek hosts weekly Marvel Champions Free Play events - 6pm Fridays in McPherson and 6pm Saturdays in Manhattan.
