Warhammer

Warhammer is a tabletop battle game of commanding armies of warriors and fighting vehicles. The playing area is a tabletop model of a battlefield of buildings, hills, trees, and other terrain features. Each player takes turns to position their models to engage their opponent's forces.

Players collect, assemble, and paint forces of miniature plastic models, all with different stats and abilities. Unlike a board game, where players’ moves are restricted to defined areas, Warhammer commanders freely maneuver their units set distances using rulers and resolve shooting and melee combat by rolling dice.

Warhammer appeals to a wide age range thanks to its variety of units, its deep but accessible strategies, and its opportunities for creative expression.

The Village Geek has weekly Warhammer and Age of Sigmar Free Play events in Manhattan, and bi-weekly Warhammer events in McPherson. We also host occasional tournaments.

If you’d like to learn more about the Warhammer universe please come to one of our events and watch a game.

Game Workshop, the publisher of Warhammer, also has a variety of beginner sets to introduce you to the Warhammer universe. Shop for Warhammer and related products here.

Games Workshop also releases new products on a regular basis, some of which are limited-run items you might not want to miss. We have a program in place to help you keep up with these releases and not miss another title before it becomes impossible to find.

Besides Warhammer, Games Workshop publishes these popular wargaming titles and Warhammer variants:

Warhammer: Kill Team

Kill Team is a skirmish-style game, focusing on smaller groups of soldiers fighting other small groups of soldiers.

Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game

Games Workshop brings their reputation for highly-detailed miniatures to Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings universe.

Blood Bowl

What started out as a parody of American Football has evolved into a very popular sports-based battle game… or a battle-based sports game.
